Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about the system, the data, and how it fits your facility.

Below are the questions we hear most from correctional staff and administrators. If your question isn't answered here, the Free AI Readiness Assessment is a faster way to get a direct answer for your facility.

The System

What does Nextus Titan Jail Operations AI actually do?
It supports four core administrative functions: drafting structured incident reports from officer voice notes or written details for supervisor review, answering staff policy and SOP questions from your facility's own approved documents with source citations, logging and transcribing staff call-outs and routing them to the correct supervisor automatically, and handling multilingual inbound calls, including Spanish, so a bilingual staff member doesn't have to be pulled from post.
Does this replace correctional officers?
No. The system is not a replacement for correctional officers. It is built to reduce administrative and documentation burden on staff, not to replace their judgment or their role.
Does the system interact with inmates?
No. This is not an inmate-facing application. It is built for staff-side administrative workflows only.
Does the AI make disciplinary or use-of-force decisions?
No. It is not a use-of-force or disciplinary decision tool. Report drafts and policy answers are produced for human supervisor review, not automated decision-making.
Can this handle scheduling or shift coverage?
Not as part of the core system today. Scheduling and shift coverage support is part of the future Administrative Agent Suite, available to active clients at the 12-month mark under the loyalty benefit described below.

Data and Deployment

Where does our facility's data go?
Facility data is not entered into publicly accessible AI tools or consumer AI platforms. Depending on which deployment model you choose, data is either kept entirely on hardware stationed at your facility, or processed on Nextus Titan-controlled secure infrastructure with facility-specific data separation, accessed through a dedicated encrypted connection.
What are the two deployment options?
Closed Local Deployment: hardware is stationed at your facility. Audio, transcripts, policies, and generated records remain on facility-controlled hardware and are not transmitted to Nextus Titan infrastructure for processing. Best fit for larger facilities with dedicated space and environments requiring maximum local control.

Secure Private Deployment: processed on Nextus Titan-controlled secure infrastructure with facility-specific data separation, accessed through a dedicated encrypted connection. Best fit for smaller facilities without dedicated IT staff or equipment space, or where faster setup is a priority. Which model fits your facility is confirmed during the assessment and follow-up conversation.
Is our facility required to share sensitive or inmate information to get started?
No. The Free AI Readiness Assessment and the deployment process are designed to work without inmate information, active incident details, security vulnerabilities, or other confidential facility information. Approximate bed capacity and general workflow information are all that's needed to begin.

Company and Trust

Is Nextus Titan affiliated with any government agency?
No. Nextus Titan LLC is an independent private company and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any federal, state, or local government agency.
Who built Nextus Titan?
Nextus Titan was founded and is led by a corrections professional with direct correctional operations experience. The company was built from firsthand observation of recurring operational challenges such as documentation burden, policy access gaps, call-out management, and administrative workload on staff who are already stretched thin.
Do you work with federal Bureau of Prisons facilities?
No. Federal BOP facilities are not currently served. Nextus Titan is focused on county jails and state departments of corrections.

Pricing and Process

How does county jail pricing work?
Pricing is based on bed capacity, not current headcount, and includes a one-time setup fee plus a monthly fee. Entry tier (up to 150 beds) is $14,500 setup and $3,200 per month. Standard tier (150 to 400 beds) is $21,500 setup and $5,200 per month. Large tier (400 to 750 beds) is $28,500 setup and $6,500 per month. Facilities above 750 beds are quoted directly. Setup includes installation, knowledge base build, staff training, and 30 days of launch support. Your exact tier and final deployment details are confirmed after the Free AI Readiness Assessment. Full pricing details are also available on the County Jails page.
How does state DOC pricing work?
State-level and multi-facility pricing depends on facility count, deployment model, knowledge base scope, support requirements, and procurement structure, including whether your agency begins with a single-facility pilot or a broader rollout. Because of this variation, state DOC pricing is quoted after assessment and discovery rather than published as a flat rate.
What happens after the first 12 months?
At 12 months, active clients become eligible for the Administrative Agent Suite at no additional software fee, subject to approved workflow scope, existing hardware capacity, and deployment requirements. This can expand the system to support additional administrative workflows such as scheduling coverage requests, training compliance tracking, and incident escalation chains.
What is the Free AI Readiness Assessment, and is it a sales call?
It's a structured intake conversation, not a sales pitch. It takes under 25 minutes and covers your reporting process, policy lookup needs, staff call-out logging, multilingual call handling, and deployment preferences. No sensitive facility information is required. The goal is to document your facility's actual administrative challenges so the Nextus Titan team can determine whether the system is a relevant fit before any further conversation happens.
